Build a creative life that stays meaningful as your career grows
Filmmaking isn’t just about what you make
It shapes who you become along the way.
Jon’s coaching is for filmmakers who feel the tension between a career that looks successful on the outside, and a life that no longer feels fully aligned.
Whether you’re getting consistent work that doesn’t feel like you, or struggling to find opportunities that reflect what you know you’re capable of, something feels off.
Drawing from nearly two decades in the film industry, his own experience with burnout and realignment, and his training in lifestyle and wellness coaching at Harvard Medical School, Jon helps filmmakers step back, get honest about what’s no longer working, and reconnect with the work they actually want to be making.
Jon has spent years navigating the tension between creative ambition and personal sustainability.
Through Jon’s experience building an award-winning production company and working in high-pressure filmmaking environments, he understands how easily momentum can mask misalignment. The work is there. The opportunities are there. But something starts to feel off.
You can be doing everything right on paper and still feel disconnected from your own work.
For many filmmakers, this is the moment where the question shifts from “How do I grow?” to “At what cost?”
Jon’s coaching is grounded in the belief that growth doesn’t have to come at the expense of clarity, relationships, or wellbeing. With the right perspective, it’s possible to keep moving forward while staying connected to what made you want to create in the first place.
Jon’s coaching principles
01 — Transitions
Navigating Creative Transitions
Filmmakers often reach moments where their career is evolving faster than their clarity. Coaching helps them slow down, take stock, and move forward with intention instead of reaction.
02 — Voice
Reconnecting With Your Voice
Over time, it’s easy to lose touch with what you actually care about. Sometimes you realize you’ve been speaking in a voice that isn’t fully yours. Your perspective and lived experience are the foundation of your work. Coaching helps you hear that again.
03 — Integration
Art, Work, and Life Together
When your work is out of sync with your life, it eventually catches up. You can only outrun that disconnect for so long before it starts to cost you something real. The goal is not balance as an idea, but a way of working that supports your relationships, health, and sense of self.
04 — Growth
Sustainable Growth
The goal is not more for the sake of more. More work doesn’t fix a lack of clarity. It usually amplifies it. This is about building a creative life that can expand without losing its meaning.

About Jon
Filmmaker Coach Founder Mentor
Jon Bregel is a filmmaker, coach, and founder of The Nourish Community. Earlier in his career, he co-founded the award-winning production company Variable, collaborating with directors, agencies, and brands across commercial and documentary filmmaking.
As the company grew, so did the pace, and eventually, so did the disconnect. The work was successful, but something deeper no longer felt aligned.
After navigating burnout and a period of creative realignment, he began working one-on-one with filmmakers facing similar questions. His work now focuses on helping others reconnect with their voice, move through transitions with clarity, and build careers that feel both ambitious and honest.

If you’re feeling the tension between the career you’ve built and the creative life you still want to live, that tension is worth paying attention to.
