Privacy Policy

Effective date: May, 01, 2026

Nourish, LLC ("Nourish," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit thenourish.community (the "Site"), book a coaching session, join the Nourish Community, sign up for our newsletter, or otherwise interact with us — and how we use, share, and protect that information.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. Who we are

Nourish is a coaching and community platform for filmmakers. Our Site is hosted on the Squarespace platform. The business responsible for your data (the "data controller" under GDPR) is:

Nourish, LLC
4 Lombardy Place | Towson, MD 21204
Email: Lin@nourish.art

2. Information we collect

Information you provide to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily give us, including:

  • Contact forms and newsletter sign-ups. Your name, email address, and any message content you submit through forms on the Site, including the entry pop-up and the footer sign-up.

  • Coaching bookings. When you book a discovery call or ongoing session through our Acuity Scheduling integration, Acuity collects your name, email, phone number (if provided), appointment details, and anything you enter in their intake forms.

  • Community membership purchases. If you join the Nourish Community, we collect your name, email address, billing address, and payment details. Payment card numbers are processed by Stripe through Squarespace Payments — we don't store full card details on our servers.

  • Customer account information. If you create an account to manage your community membership, we store the email address, password hash, and order history associated with the account.

  • Direct correspondence. If you email, DM, or otherwise contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can respond and improve our support.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • Device and browser data — IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, screen resolution, and the referring URL.

  • Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on each page, scroll depth, and general location (country / region / city inferred from IP).

  • Cookies and similar technologies — small data files that persist across sessions. See Cookies, below.

This information is collected via Squarespace's built-in analytics and, where enabled, Google Analytics.

3. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage) to:

  • keep the Site functioning (e.g. remembering that you've dismissed the entry pop-up, keeping you signed into a member account)

  • measure how visitors use the Site so we can improve it

  • understand the performance of marketing campaigns

  • support third-party services embedded on the Site (Acuity, Flodesk, social links, podcast players)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may break parts of the Site — for example, staying signed in or completing a purchase.

Where required by law (EU / UK / similar jurisdictions), we display a cookie-consent banner the first time you visit. Non-essential cookies only fire after you accept.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the services you've asked for — coaching sessions, community access, podcast listening, newsletter delivery.

  • Process payments and fulfill orders.

  • Respond to your questions and support requests.

  • Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts, membership renewal notices, password resets).

  • Send marketing emails about new coaching offerings, podcast episodes, events, and community updates — only if you've opted in.

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site, including analyzing traffic patterns and fixing bugs.

  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse of our services.

  • Comply with our legal and tax obligations.

Legal bases (for visitors in the EU / UK). We rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: your consent (for optional cookies, marketing emails, and the Flodesk pop-up sign-up); performance of a contract (to deliver coaching, community access, and purchases you've initiated); legitimate interests (to operate and improve the Site, keep it secure, and send service-related communications); and legal obligation (to comply with tax, accounting, and other applicable laws).

5. Third-party services we use

Nourish uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

  • Squarespace — hosting, form submissions, commerce, analytics, customer accounts. Squarespace Privacy Policy

  • Squarespace Payments / Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention for community memberships and any paid add-ons. Stripe Privacy

  • Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace company) — discovery-call and ongoing-session bookings. Acuity Privacy

  • Flodesk — email marketing and the entry pop-up newsletter sign-up. Flodesk Privacy

  • Google Analytics — aggregate Site analytics, where enabled. Google Privacy

  • Podcast platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pod.link) — if you click through to listen, those platforms' policies apply once you leave our Site.

  • Social platforms (Instagram, YouTube, etc.) — when you interact with linked profiles, each platform's policy applies.

We don't sell your personal information. We only share it with these providers to the extent necessary to run the services above.

6. Marketing emails

If you sign up for our newsletter, book a discovery call, or purchase a community membership, we may email you about new episodes, events, coaching offerings, and occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing Lin@nourish.art. We'll still send transactional messages (booking confirmations, receipts, account notices) after you unsubscribe, because those are required to deliver the service you've purchased.

7. Commerce and purchases

When you buy a Nourish Community membership or any paid add-on:

  • Your payment information (card number, expiration date, CVV) is collected and processed by Stripe through Squarespace Payments. We never see or store your full card details.

  • We do store your name, email, billing address, order history, and receipt records for accounting, customer service, and legal compliance.

  • Squarespace & Mighty Networks Payments also uses Stripe's fraud-prevention tooling (Sift) to screen transactions for unusual activity.

Refund and cancellation terms are covered in our separate Terms of Service.

8. Scheduling and coaching sessions

When you book a session through our Acuity Scheduling integration:

  • Acuity collects your name, email, phone number (optional), appointment details, and any intake-form responses on our behalf.

  • Your coach receives this information so they can prepare for and conduct the session.

  • Acuity stores and processes this data under Squarespace's privacy policy.

  • Session notes, if any, are kept confidential by your coach and are not shared with third parties except as legally required.

9. How we share information

We share personal information only as described in this policy, and only with:

  • Service providers listed in Section 5, who process data on our behalf under contract.

  • Legal authorities, when required by subpoena, court order, or applicable law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

  • A successor business, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Nourish's assets — with notice to you.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information, subject to limited exceptions (e.g. records we must keep for tax or legal reasons).

  • Portability — receive your information in a portable format.

  • Objection / restriction — object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing activities.

  • Withdraw consent — for any processing based on your consent.

  • Opt out of marketing — as described in Section 6.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected, have that information deleted, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we don't sell or share your data as defined under the CCPA). You won't be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

For EU / UK / Swiss residents (GDPR)

You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority if you believe we've mishandled your data. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first — please contact us using the details in Section 14.

To exercise any of these rights, email Lin@nourish.art with the subject line "Privacy Request" and a brief description of what you'd like. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling the request. We'll respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA).

11. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults working in the film industry. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Typical retention periods:

  • Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe, plus up to 12 months.

  • Coaching booking records — up to 3 years after the session.

  • Community membership records — for the duration of your membership, plus 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.

  • Contact-form submissions — up to 2 years.

  • Analytics and cookie data — as set by the underlying provider (typically 26 months for Google Analytics).

After the retention period, we delete or anonymize the information.

13. Security

We take reasonable measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and vendor due diligence — to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, however. If we learn of a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you in line with applicable law.

14. International transfers

Nourish operates from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information during transfer.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective date" at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the Site or email active subscribers. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
